Partners for Good Urges Jordanian companies to earn global certification of Best Places to Work

Organization kicks off national awareness raising campaign to emphasize need for improving work environments, empowering women and youths in Jordan

Partners for Good (PfG) has launched a national campaign to raise awareness of the need for enabling work environments that enhance economic participation of women and youths — a key prerequisite for the success and increased productivity of enterprises.

In phase 1, the Best Places to Work campaign, themed “a work environment is more than a place”, focuses on the information and communications technology (ICT) sector, in collaboration with the Information and Communications Technology Association of Jordan (int@j).

PfG, a Jordanian nonprofit organization, is an authorized representative and exclusive agent of the international organization, Best Places to Work, which started more than 30 years ago, and has a global program that certifies and recognizes leading workplaces in many countries around the world.

“At Partners for Good, we believe in the importance of advancing work environments in various sectors in Jordan,” said PfG CEO and President, Waleed Al Tarawneh. “The certification program globally recognizes enterprises with best places to work, in general, and for women, in particular.”

That, he added, “puts certified enterprises on the international map as certified workplaces, and contributes to their development, which would create enabling work environments that advances women’s labor force participation”.

For his part, int@j Chairman, Amjad Swais, said the association “supports the business ecosystem integration in Jordan’s ICT sector through initiatives empowering individuals, and developing their skills in line with market needs”. “int@j also supports efforts exerted by companies and looks for ways to overcome challenges facing these enterprises.”

Swais said int@j is a committed supporter of women’s empowerment in the ICT sector, with many initiatives centered on their capacity building and on promoting gender diversity in the workplace.

“Supporting entrepreneurship, and enabling youths to develop their creative ideas contribute to addressing unemployment, and to creating an efficient work environment that keeps pace with developments and changes,” he explained. “Such work environment plays a key role in enhancing women’s labor and economic participation, which we seek in all sectors, including the ICT industry.”

The national awareness raising campaign seeks to help Jordanian enterprises obtain international certification by applying on the website http://www.pfg-jo.org/workplace. With the certification, companies can improve productivity, build sustainable customer relationship, and expand global networks.
